When it comes to liquids and beverages, it can be hard to accurately gauge how much liquid remains if it’s stored in an opaque (non see-through) container. In these situations, you have to physically lift the container to get a feel for the amount of liquid remaining, which is less convenient than simply being able to look at the container to see how much liquid is left.

We are seeking ways to allow consumers to determine how much liquid remains in an opaque container without having to physically pick it up or touch it.

Deliverables

Please submit the following:

1) Propose an idea for an opaque container that shows how much liquid is left by sight alone (no need to pick it up).

2) Explain why your solution would be intuitive and easy for consumers to use

3) If helpful, attach an artistic rendering (sketch, mockup, etc.) showing what your solution would look like on some sort of opaque container

Criteria:

1) Your solution must be low-cost and easily implemented into large scale manufacturing of containers. Substantial equipment upgrades will not be acceptable.

2) Your solution would be used for a 64 ounce (1/2 gallon) or larger container

3) The solution cannot be to make the container transparent or translucent
