It is a routine practice to measure the amount of a protein in biological samples using Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSorbent Assay (ELISA). A sandwich ELISA is based on two non-competing antibodies that bind to different regions of the same protein. Currently, one protein is measured in one protein-specific assay.

Deliverables

We are seeking technology and/or instrumentation that will enable us to quantify multiple proteins simultaneously in a single sample. Please include:

1) A description of your method

2) Supporting literature and examples if possible

Criteria:

The assay does not have to be limited to traditional immunoassay methods. Special consideration will be given to ideas that are different than existing platforms such as Luminex and Meso Scale Discovery.

The assay MUST have but is not limited to the following qualities:

- Ability to quantify a minimum of 3-4 proteins in a single sample,

- High throughput (>150 samples per day) and suitable for use with liquid handler automation,

- Simple lab-to-lab transfer,

- Low maintenance and cost for equipment and reagents.

The assay must NOT have the following qualities:

- Lower sensitivity than ELISA

Important: Please focus on proposing a unique, original, and novel solution. Avoid techniques that are already in practice if possible.

Submissions will be graded on the following criteria:
