Sample cover letter for Internship position at AB InBev

POSITION:

GMT Internship

I am writing to express my great interest in the summer 2017 Global Marketing Trainee Program. Though I have known of the internship for several years, I was very grateful to speak with several representatives at the UVA Engineering, Science and Technology Fair about the program to hear more about both the daily responsibilities of interns and the final presentation to senior leaders. As a double major in Systems Engineering and Economics at the University of Virginia, I strongly believe that my background, interests and coursework make me a strong candidate for the position. I have attached my résumé for your review.

Being born in raised in St. Louis, I have a particular fondness for the positive impact Anheuser-Busch has made in the region. AB has presented iconic symbols and lasting traditions in both St. Louis and globally, and the scope of its influence is astounding. I’m thrilled at the potential of impacting future innovation through the internship or afterward. I believe what separates me from other candidates is my confidence in my leadership abilities, my attention to detail and refusal to accept mediocre work, and my commitment to both my success and the collective success of those around me.

Through this internship, I hope to build upon the foundations of economics, marketing, probability and risk, and the systems engineering process that I have developed in my academic career. I am enthralled by the prospect of working in St. Louis, especially in a field so perfectly matching my interests and career goals, though I would be equally happy to work in New York for the company I was raised around. If selected, I would be extremely committed for the duration of the summer with a view towards contributing as much to the program as I hope to gain from it.
