Sample cover letter for Internship position at Texas Instruments

POSITION:

Electrical Engineering Internship

Dear recruiter:

I am interested in summer intern opportunities with Texas Instruments, the world’s premiere microelectronics and semiconductor manufacturer. I have heard several exciting testimonials about careers at Texas Instruments from students, professors, and current employees and I would be interested in learning more about available internship and co-op opportunities for graduate level electrical engineering majors.

I will graduate with my B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the XXXX in May 2016 and I am eager to exercise my engineering skills and knowledge before starting my M.S. in Electrical Engineering in fall 2016 (M.S.E.E. expected graduation spring 2017). I have several years of experience in leadership roles and working in team-oriented environments. I also have excellent technical experience, including experience with FPGAs, lab equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, function generator, etc.), robotics, computer vision, microelectronics, analog circuits (design, implementation, and testing), embedded systems, and software skills (Verilog, C, Python, assembly languages, etc.). I have fabricated my own MOSFET and BJT ICs in a class 100 cleanroom as part of a graduate level solid state device fabrication course. I will take more graduate level coursework next semester, including a DSP applications course utilizing MATLAB and a VLSI design course utilizing Cadence EDA software. I believe I have shown great aptitude for all facets of electrical engineering, including both hardware and software aspects and I am eager to learn new skills and technologies.

My attached résumé contains additional details on my experience and skills. I would appreciate the opportunity to talk with you and to provide further information on my candidacy. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

XXXX
