Dear Mr. XYZ: 

Please accept my application and resume as I am applying for a position as an architect with your firm. ABC Architecture Associates has been a leader in the industry for many years and it would be my honor and privilege to work for a firm of this caliber. I am willing and able to work long hours to meet a deadline. I actually thrive under pressure and I am intensely ambitious in my career goals and objectives.

I have been employed by XYZ Designs since 2009 where I began working immediately after earning my Master’s degree in Architecture from Georgia Institute of Technology. I have worked on a variety of projects around the metropolitan Atlanta area including luxury homes in the John’s Creek and Heron Glen developments, commercial and industrial buildings in the Chattahoochee and Town Park areas, urban design in the Atlantic Station expansion as well as some heritage and conservation work in the Peachtree Battle area.

I possess excellent computer and technical skills with advanced knowledge of Adobe, Auto CAD, 3ds Max, Maya and Revit and I am a quick study on new graphics and design programs. While at XYZ I was trained in and now have a working knowledge of contracts administration as well. I am extremely detail oriented and have strong problem solving skills that enable me to complete every project accurately and to the highest standard possible. I have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and can function well as a team member or as a leader.

The prospect of working for ABC Architecture Associates is exciting as I know that the firm specializes in environmental design and this is my greatest area of interest. The recent work I did at Peachtree Battle and Atlantic Station had environmental design elements and I found that I have a passion for this type of architectural design.
