Actively contributed towards manufacturing research on machining process analysis and optimization by simulation and experimentation, machinability and characterization of new materials and tools.
Responsibilities:
• Employed SolidWorks to design spindles, dynamometers and tool holders for successful testing and analysis of orthogonal cutting
• Researched and developed prototypes to brace tool holders to the Mori Seiki NV7000 and cylindrical work pieces to the spindle
• Worked with undergraduate and graduate students to develop a cutting simulation using orthogonal cutting model
• Created weekly reports to ensure faculty is kept up to date on progress of laboratory projects
