Millions of people live with chronic pain, a discomfort that affects their everyday life. Regardless of the source of pain, these individuals share a common experience:

· Frustration – despair of living with chronic pain

· Seeking escape – want a break from the cycle

· Validation – hope that family and caregivers understand their condition

· Fear – often avoid sharing full symptoms to a doctor

· Confusion – pain is subjective and hard to communicate/describe

· Inconsistency – condition during doctor visit is not always how they feel

Deliverables

We would like to create a companion technology for these patients. Consider all potential mediums (hardware, apps, wearables, software for existing platforms, smart packaging, etc). The goal of this technology is to validate the patient, build trust, and monitor trends. It should help the patient easily log the time and severity of pain as well as enable them to document/track their activity levels. Avoid a simple 1-10 scale, as it is too subjective and vague.

Submit the following:

1. Submit a basic description of your technology

2. What inputs would you use to track the pain?

3. How would it build trust with the user?

4. Attach helpful mockups or diagrams to explain the user experience

CRITERIA:

Top ideas will use insightful tracking mechanisms to help inform patients and caregivers.

Submissions will be graded on the following criteria:
