Autotrader is a one-stop-shop and a household name when it comes to new and used vehicles. Autotrader’s website allows you to find local dealers, search for new and used vehicles, learn the value of your own vehicles, and even sell your own vehicle. Founded in 1997, this vehicle marketplace has adapted and grown with the needs and expectations of its customers over the past 22 years. We want to stay ahead of the innovation curve for the next 22 as well!
Deliverables
US solvers only:
Visit the current Autotrader site (www.autotrader.com) and share your initial impression. Specifically, answer the following:
- Based on what you know about the Autotrader brand today, which words or adjectives best describe it?
- What would you change or improve on the current Autotrader website? Think about the look and feel, user experience, and any other elements that stand out to you when considering enhancements to the site.
- What would the Autotrader website of the future look like to you? *We want to know about features, capabilities, and innovation to improve the vehicle marketplace. We are looking for more than design only ideas.
- How do you envision the vehicle marketplace in a world that now includes the offerings below? How will these technological advances shape the future of the Autotrader website?
- Autonomous (self-driving) vehicles
- Ride-sharing/ride-hailing services, such as Uber or Lyft
- Car-sharing services, such as Zipcar or Car2Go
- Car subscription, such as Fair or Porsche Passport – a monthly subscription payment for vehicle access that includes all vehicle expenses except gas
