Employee resource groups (or ERGs) are groups of employees who join together based on shared characteristics and life experiences to find support and development within the workplace. ERGs can provide opportunities for networking, mentorship, upskilling, offer a sense of community and even volunteer opportunities with like-minded or like-experienced individuals. Examples might be women in tech, racial inclusion, LGBTQ+, veteran support or a mental health advocacy group.
As the social landscape continues to evolve towards more inclusion and equality, a sense of community in the workplace has become increasingly important to effectively retain talent.
When it comes to advocating for, championing, and assisting in the advancement of underrepresented employees, we want to know what is “best in class” in the context of ERGs to promote a culture of inclusion and belonging in a work environment.
Specifically in the context of employee resource groups, what is your unique idea for a program to improve their sense of belonging at their job? and/or support underrepresented communities in the workplace?
How will your idea help an employee progress individually? and/or professionally?
How is your idea unique and different?
