In addition to the cash prizes, winners may be considered for a summer internship with QS, as well as opportunities for regional brand ambassador roles!

Quacquarelli Symonds ('QS') connects students, universities, and business schools as the world's largest higher education network.  We are best known for publishing the QS World University Rankings, featured on TopUniversities.com.   We also host global events, such as our QS World Grad School Tour,  which bring prospective students and top universities together under one roof.   Our graduate fair presents an awesome opportunity for those considering grad school and professional development:

  • Free test prep seminars (ex: how to ace the GRE) with leading local providers
  • Free resume clinics with industry experts
  • Free, professional headshots
  • A scholarship directory with $7 million in scholarships
  • Special discounts and offers from partners

Deliverables

We're passionate about our graduate events and want to make sure that we're delivering the best possible opportunity to our attendees, so we're interested in hearing your feedback.

Our target audience is prospective Masters students, typically Millennials, between the ages of 20 and 25.   However, we welcome people of all ages and stages, as many people return to grad school later in life.  We are seeking your insights and ideas on how we could optimize our event and marketing strategy for 2018, to deliver the best possible events for our attendees.

1) Please begin by answering the following survey questions in their individual fields below:

  1. What is your age?
  2. What is your nationality?
  3. In which state do you live?
  4. What school do you attend?

2) Now, please complete the following deliverable questions in the main submission window:

1. Check out our graduate event schedule here: https://www.topuniversities.com/events/qs-world-grad-school-tour/usa-canada - and then give us your feedback, based on the website and the information provided in the task:
     a. What would motivate you and your peer group to attend a QS graduate fair?
     b. If you registered for a QS graduate fair, what information would you want to receive before attending?
     c. If you registered for a  QS graduate fair, what would make you attend on the day?

2. What is your idea for a creative marketing strategy for QS graduate events?  (Consider channels, promotional tactics, specific messaging, etc.)

a. How would this idea increase the number of people who register?
     b. How would this idea increase brand awareness?
     c. What demographic of potential grad students will your strategy target most effectively?

Guidelines for Top Submissions:

  • We are not interested in ideas around a 'virtual conference.'  These are some of the best universities in the world, and they expect students to show up in person and 'ready to impress.'
  • Top ideas will focus on optimizing one area of promotion - we run 360 marketing campaigns across a variety of channels, so we're looking for detailed ideas that focus on the impact of 1 aspect - i.e. email outreach or flyer distribution.  Any submissions should be focused on a single area of promotion and explored as a 'deep dive' into that campaign.  We're looking for detailed ideas that focus on the impact of a single aspect - i.e. email outreach or flyer distribution.
  • Our graduate events are typically based in DC, New York, Toronto, Vancouver, LA, San Francisco, and Montreal - if you have local knowledge that would support your marketing idea, bring that to the table!
Submissions will be graded on the following criteria:
  • Meets Deliverables
  • Creativity
  • Clarity
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of QS Events
