Small pic legal tech

The Law Department of The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America is constantly looking for ways to improve the effectiveness, output, and quality of our work.

In 2016, we conducted a Legal Innovation Challenge where we challenged our employees to provide ideas on how to better serve the needs of our clients. That initiative resulted in several projects that were implemented by process improvements as well as technological solutions.

This year, the Law Department is seeking to showcase existing or emerging technological innovations in the legal services industry and challenge our employees to identify opportunities where we can leverage leading edge solutions.

Key areas of consideration are:

  • predictive technology
  • contract review
  • artificial intelligence
  • eDiscovery
  • due diligence for M&A and real estate investments
  • data analysis
  • robotics process automation.

The initial step is for the law department to identify technologies that might address Guardian's needs. The Law Department will then conduct an internal selection to identify the solutions that are of most interest.  Once the solutions are identified, we will invite the selected participants to provide more detailed product demonstrations.

Include the following in the submission window:

  1. An executive summary that outlines the benefits of your proposal.
  2. A detailed description of the product or service.
  3. Value Proposition / Scalability: How will this solution help us provide better legal service to our clients? Is there a critical mass or volume needed before this becomes cost effective?

Additionally, you will be asked to provide the following in separate fields:

  • Product name.
  • Estimated time to implementation.
  • Cost estimate.

Submissions must be accompanied by a one-pager. See the attached example below.
