Ordering and paying for food at a restaurant is something that has traditionally required face-to-face interactions between the diners and the wait staff or the cashiers. However, smart phones and other devices have made mobile ordering and payment something that diners can accomplish with the press of a button.

At Jason’s Deli, we are redeveloping our mobile app to try and enhance the total experience of our customers. Our app has four order modes - dine-in, take-out, delivery, & drive-thru. We want you to focus your solutions on the take-out, and or delivery order modes.

Deliverables

Imagine you are tasked with the design and user experience for the Jason’s Deli mobile app:

1) What would the user see on the homepage of the app? Be specific in your answer so we can really visualize it!

2) How would a user navigate to the different app features from the homepage? (menu options, ordering, checkout, etc.) Feel free to explore things like voice commands and gestures in your answer! Help us understand how you imagine the flow of the app from when a user opens it to when an order is completed.

3) How would menu customization work on the app? For example, some customers might not want cheese or onions on a sandwich, while other want the works! The app needs to be able to accommodate all types of custom orders.

** NOTE** Solutions that include a visual image (sketch, mockup, etc.) of your app design will receive special consideration

4) How could we make the app feel personalized/customized for each user?

5) Have you ever eaten at Jason's Deli? (Y/N)

Criteria:

1) Keep in mind that Jason’s Deli has an extensive menu, so your solution should be able to present a large menu of meal options in an intuitive and straightforward way.

2) Solutions should be detailed enough to really give us a feel for how you imagine the design and navigation experience for the app.

3) Solutions that go far outside the box and present unique and new ideas are preferred
