Millennial young professionals who live or work in urban centers have a wide-range of transportation needs that fluctuate by time and event. To meet these diverse and varying mobility needs, there are ever-expanding options for how to get around. Ride sharing services, transportation network companies, and bike rentals are just a few of the progressive new options available for young professionals living in cities. Mercedes-Benz is excited about the dynamic scene of Millennial urban mobility and we are seeking new ideas for owning, sharing, leasing, and accessing means of transportation.
Deliverables
Propose a new mobility service OR an improvement to an existing service that meets the evolving mobility needs of 20 - 30 year old young professionals living in urban centers. In your proposal, please address the following:
- Describe the region where you live (for example: a rural area vs. a sprawling urban area) and the mobility options available to you. What mobility methods and services do you choose to use, and why?
- What is your idea for a new mobility service or service improvement? If it is a new mobility service, describe in detail how it works. If it is an improvement to an existing service, what elements of the previous service is it improving or replacing?
- Why would your proposal meet the needs of Millennials living in urban areas?
- Optional: Provide a visual (sketch, diagram, etc) displaying how your service might work.
Criteria
-We are seeking practical but realistic solutions that can be commercialized within two years.
