When you hear "Hyatt," you may think of high-end hotels and resorts.  However, Hyatt's purpose - to care for people so they can be their best - extends well beyond accommodations.  It is the lens through which we look at all areas of our business.  We want to continue to explore new and creative ways to fulfill this purpose, whether it's a new offering, a new service or a new experience that is outside of a traditional hotel stay.  Here are several broad areas we are considering: 

  • How could we bring elements that people love from their hotel experiences into their daily lives?  
  • What could we do to enhance people's experience when traveling, whether it's before, during or after a trip?  
  • Is there something totally new we could incorporate into the hotel experience - inside or outside of the hotel - that is not already being done? 

As you brainstorm for this challenge, think how you would want to interact with the hotel experience outside of a traditional hotel stay.  What are the pain points when you travel?  What elements of a hotel experience would you like to have in your own daily life?  What exciting new offerings will allow Hyatt to care for people in a completely new way?  

Deliverables

We are seeking ideas for new experiences, services or offerings that will expand our ability to care for people outside of a traditional hotel stay.  Specifically, answer the following:

  1. What is your idea for a new experience or offering for Hyatt?  Is it a service, experience, offering, etc.?  
  2. Where would it take place and who would it be for?  (People in their daily lives?  People getting ready for a trip?  Travelers heading home from their hotel stay?)
  3. How does it work?

Avoid the following ideas: 

  • Hotel-sponsored safaris, cruises, riverboats, glamping and voluntourism, as these ideas are already out there. 
  • Hotel-backed private accommodation experiences (ex: a Hyatt-verified private home rental)
  • Standard hotel experiences such as restaurants, spas, pools, gyms, guided tours from hotel lobby, etc.
