NOTE: Only solvers in the United States will be eligible to receive rewards on this challenge.

As more and more Americans make the transition to diets that are predominantly or fully plant based, the need for healthy, delicious plant-based food items that require little to no prep work increases. Our company, which makes a wide range of fruit and vegetable products, wants to meet that need.

Deliverables

Help us come up with a new, plant-based food item. Your idea could be a meal, a mini-meal, or a snack, but you must answer the following questions in detail:

  1. What is your idea for the product? In your answer, include:
    1. The ingredients. Be specific! What about these ingredients make it plant based, ie., how do you define a plant-based food?
    2. The flavor profile. What spices and flavors are most prevalent? Is it sweet? Savory? Some combination of the two?
    3. How and when will the product be consumed? Will it replace something the person already consumes? Will it be consumed with something else?
    4. Where would you expect to find this product? A grocery store? A coffee shop? A convenience store? Somewhere else?
  2. What would the packaging be for your product?
    1. How does the packaging impact or aid the way in which it is consumed?
    2. How does the packaging make single-serve or multi-serve use evident to the consumer?
    3. Upload a visual of your idea.
  3. Who is the target consumer? Why is it a perfect fit for this person?
    1. What are the benefits of consuming the product?

AVOID: Your idea should not be a beverage or drinkable product, such as a smoothie.

NOTE: If you attach your submission as a PDF, PPT, Word Doc, or other file type, you must still paste your answer text into the body of the submission window. Failure to do so will result in a lower score.
