Obesity now affects 17% of all children and adolescents in the United States - triple the rate from just one generation ago. Learn more about how childhood obesity is measured. Many initiatives have been launched to combat this trend but motivating and educating community leaders has been a struggle, including a campaign led by First Lady Michelle Obama.
Deliverables
Propose a grassroots initiative to reduce childhood obesity in your local community which doesn’t rely on celebrity profiles or external organizations to be successful.
Your goal is to 1) educate big influencers in your community 2) motivate them to implement your initiative and 3) use these influencers to gather the support of the community at large
