Sensor technology refers to the field of technology that involves the development, design, and utilization of sensors to detect and respond to specific environmental changes or inputs. Sensors are devices or instruments that can measure physical, chemical, biological, or environmental properties and convert them into electrical signals or other readable forms. Examples might be the camera on your phone, smart watch sensors, pressure sensors, temperature sensors, etc.
Sensor technologies have transformed our world and have changed the way we interact with the physical and digital realms. These technologies have enabled an incredible range of applications across various industries. Today, we're surrounded by a multitude of sensors, each with its own unique capabilities.
But the journey is far from over. The possibilities for innovation in sensor technologies are boundless. At this crossroads, there is also an opportunity to consider new applications of sensors that positively contribute to sustainability efforts, corporate social responsibility and the overall improvement of quality of life.
