Sample cover letter for Internship position at Alpha Kappa Psi

GOT THE JOB? Yes

September 30, 2015

Since elementary school, I have always strived in some way to be a leader. Throughout high school, I was very involved in FFA, a club based on agriculture. I served as Chapter President, Student Advisor, and Chapter Historian, and thoroughly enjoyed the responsibility that came with having a leadership position. Since coming to the University of Arizona I have been looking for an opportunity to fulfill my aspirations of becoming a leader and having responsibility like I enjoyed in high school.

I am very excited for this coming semester as a pledge in Alpha Kappa Psi, though I am sure I will be pushed to my limits. I believe I will excel in Alpha Kappa Psi because I am willing to learn and better myself, and am able to take criticism. I am a very positive person, who always tries to see the good in every situation. I am used to working under high stress, and enjoy pushing my limits. Additionally, I have learned through my leadership positions in high school that I am able to be an effective leader without being the loudest person in the room, as I am able to sit back and listen and communicate my point effectively. I also am very excited for the opportunity to become close to my fellow pledges, and hopefully create lifelong friendships. I am always up for anything, and make an effort to attend every event that I can.

I am very appreciative of this opportunity to prove myself to the Alpha Nu chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi. In just the couple weeks that I have been a pledge, I have learned so much about myself, and can’t even imagine how much I will grow as the process continues. Through the assignments, meetings, and interviews I have become a more confident and effective speaker, and already feel close to those going through the same process as me. I am excited to see just how much I have improved by the end of this process.

With best regards,
