Dear Mr. Riccini,

I am very pleased to apply to participate in the AMERIGO program. I am currently enrolled in my final year towards a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Management at LUISS Guido Carli University, and I will officially graduate in October this year. However, my exams finish in July and I am not required to be in Italy beyond that date.

I am planning to take a sabbatical year to gain professional experience in an Anglo-Saxon context. I learnt about AMERIGO through my university and I am very keen to participate. As a student in Italy I have been rather limited to theory and I feel the need to gain real world experience as soon as possible. I am sure that AMERIGO, with its combination of seminars, workshops and practical internship, will be a great boost to my professional profile. I am really excited about the possibility to get hands-on experience in a U.S. company and to be constantly challenged.

My degree major is Marketing, therefore would I hope that my contribution could be maximized by operating in a Marketing or Customer Business Development scenario. This would also suit my character.

I have an aptitude for interpersonal communication and especially the ability to listen. I believe I am well able to understand people and their needs. Even though I am good at mathematics and resolving logical problems, I am creative, with a good sense of the esthetic and artistic. I am precise, accurate and pay special attention to detail.

During this year, I have worked on two marketing projects and the results were particularly appreciated. I analyzed the competitive environment and consumer behavior for one of the main car-sharing companies operating in Italy, in order to then develop a marketing strategy and plan. I have also analyzed a new fruit and vegetable home delivery service, which started-up a year ago in Southern Italy. I, with my study group, produced the first and unique marketing action plan based upon our analysis. I have therefore had the opportunity to understand how much I enjoy developing marketing strategies aimed at increasing the competitive advantage of a company.

I have always desired to work in the United States and I hope to do so in my future career. I am willing to consider any position that you might offer me. Thank you for your consideration.
