I am a final year B.tech student enrolled in the Department Of Electrical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. BCG is not only a prestigious firm, but one that really invests in the development of its consultants. My conversations with current employees, reinforced my belief that this is what separates BCG from the other firms, and is my prime reason for applying. Hence I believe this opportunity will provide me with unparalleled experience in business consulting.

The value of education has been instilled in me by my parents since a very early age. As a student, I have always been one of the top performers in my class. I always had a penchant for Physics and Mathematics simply because of the joy in solving the challenging analytical and logical problems, which was reflected in my performances in various National and International level examinations like National Level Olympiads in Physics, astronomy & Chemistry. The aptitude that developed motivated me to choose a career in engineering and I then cracked JEE-2011 with AIR-864 to get into IIT Kharagpur.

I had my industrial experience as a Summer Intern at Schlumberger Asia Services Ltd. which honed my ability to influence change by taking initiatives, while working with a team. I introduced the concept of quantitative analysis of health and safety risk for the first time inside the firm by developing a questionnaire based Compliance Quotient ,as a result of which, I was able to improve the Net Safety Compliance quotient by a staggering 44.6%.

I enjoy working with teams and taking initiatives and hold several leadership positions within my various extracurricular activities. I was the Governor of ‘Pravah’- Hindi Technology Dramatics Society under Technology Students Gymkhana for the session 2013-14 for in house and out station representation Of IIT KGP on the dramatics forum. During my tenure, KGP regained podium finishes in many intercollegiate competitions like Antaragini ’13 IITK, CarpeDium ’14 IIMC and Spring Fest ‘14 IITKGP. I also co-founded Kharagpur Data Analytics Group (KDAG) by revamping the dormant IEEE Machine Learning Reading Group under the IEEE students Group, Kharagpur, to increase participation in the field of Data Sciences and Machine learning from IIT KGP. I also participate in social service programs like National Service Scheme (NSS), where I tutor local youth in math and reading.

I believe that my strong work ethic, analytical skills, and initiative have given me the requisite skills which are coherent with BCG ethical values like integrity, respect, commitment and ability to create an impact on the society.
