Sample cover letter for Internship position at BCG

Dear Sir or Madam,

As I advance in my studies of XXXXXX in XXXX, I find the world of consulting more interesting day by day. I feel that consulting is the perfect field for the combination of both the business and the humanistic approach, since it takes problem solving to a business level. Having to come up with the best solution for a company, studying the market and dealing with economic challenges is aligned with what I am studying in the business university. Whereas, the fact that there is constant interaction with the client matches my interest for psychology. This is the reason why I am applying for the BCG summer internship.

My first experience with consulting was on my second year of BBA during the Consulting Academy offered by XXXXX. It is a program that consists on a series of sessions where the best consulting firms present their company to the students and provide them with tools to enable them to approach consulting cases. At the end of the program, a case had to be resolved by teams and mine was selected to be the one with the best solution. After that course I found BCG to stand out from all the other consulting firms because of their way of collaborating with the client in order to look for the best customized solution, rather than following a framework or pattern to deal with the problem. By doing further research of BCG, the experience, social responsibility and global leadership made final my decision to apply.

I believe that both my personal and educational experiences make me a fit candidate to apply for an internship in BCG. Being the president of the XXXXX and having been team captain in my hockey club have provided me with experiences in terms of teamwork, cooperation and leadership. Through my interest in psychology both personal and professional, I have come to enjoy understanding people in depth in order to enable us to collectively propose a creative solution to the problem.

I am certain that my CV will provide a greater understanding of my qualifications for this exciting opportunity. I would certainly appreciate the possibility to work with and learn from the members of BCG. Thank you, in advance, for your consideration.
