Dear Recruitment Management,
Being in my final year studying Biomedical Sciences at Durham University, I would like to be considered for the Associate Consultant position at Bain & Company in your London office, which I became aware of through the Durham Career Service Website.
Strategy and business model transformation consultancy appeals to me because it is an aspect of consulting that I find most fascinating and relevant to my personal objectives and ambitions. Drawing on my commercial and financial experiences gained whilst working for X and interning for X, I believe that I can add value to your clients by identifying the key drivers of business and finding ways to facilitate a competitive advantage. This is something that I would particularly like to pursue given that it combines my interests in strategy and in business. I am particularly keen to work within the global arena, since the difficulty of ’juggling’ the requirements of a number of different jurisdictions at once really appeals to my ‘can do’ attitude; as does the challenge of helping clients adapt in response to the dynamics of the global commercial environments.
In particular I am attracted to your ambitious but team spirited and high-level exposure culture, in which I feel I will fit in well and succeed. As a confident and determined hard worker who thrives in pressurised and competitive environments, I feel that I will be suited to the work and culture of Bain & Company. Additionally, I like that you don’t outsource your training, but rather learn from Bain’s best own employees. Given my personality and ambition, this is something that I really connect with and see as the best type of training.
