Dear Sir/Madam,

I am enthusiastically seeking an internship in which I can learn as much as possible while making a real contribution. I choose Securities Commission (SC) simply because the company has an excellent reputation for its innovation, expertise and its commitment to developing people. I wish to be placed under the supervision of the Islamic Capital Market & Market Development team with a particular interest to Economics and Market Analysis. I am eager to further develop my skills through a challenging internship experience, by being able to apply economic theories and methods learned in classes to the surveillance of the capital markets. However, I am flexible and willing to be assigned to any other closely related departments.

I am currently a 2nd year undergraduate student at the University of Warwick majoring in Economics with a concentration in finance. I approach all my work with discipline and focus as shown by my good academic performance. For example, I have excelled in all of my economics and finance courses and have achieved an upper 2.1 in my first year. My courses have provided me with a strong background in the methodologies required for successfully analysing and synthesizing important financial information and in preparing documentation to assist management when making critical business decisions. I am a quick learner and enjoy the challenges of doing comparative, quantitative, and cash-flow analysis in addition to portfolio and asset management and financial modelling and asset valuation. I believe my strengths in these areas would serve me well as an intern in the SC.

In addition to my relevant coursework, my internship with Ernst and Young (EY) as a vacation trainee provided me with a great opportunity to use my knowledge and skills and apply them to the real world. I very much enjoyed assisting customers with their financial decision-making and I found that my excellent interpersonal skills served me well, whether it is on building good relationship with my colleagues or dealing with challenging clients.
