My name is XYZ and I am a current MSc XYZ student at the University XYZ. I am writing to express my sincere interest in joining the Analyst Programme for Relationship Management at BlackRock, since I believe I have the background, academic knowledge, confidence and passion to be an effective member of the organization.

Having lived in the UK, USA, Continental Europe, East-Asia and studied in international schooling all my life, I regard my strong international background as my greatest asset. Therefore it is natural for me to accept different peoples, perspectives and likewise for me to also contribute different ideas. I believe this to be particularly relevant when communicating with a diverse set of institutional and retail clients.

During my undergraduate studies at the XYZ, I had actively taken steps to learn about business and finance by undertaking a variety of modules ranging from Strategy to Economics and Finance. As a constant learner both inside and outside of the classroom, I believe in the importance of applying learned theories and skills through the participation of extra-curricular activities; namely, being selected to participate in a XYZ XYZ XYZ. My belief in practicality has also led me to experience a 6-week long, rotational internship at XYZ Group in 2012. During my internship, I was able to experience the various nuances of client-facing roles first-hand, as well as learning from the different experiences of senior employees. Furthermore, my present studies at XYZ allow me to analyze Economics and Politics through an interdisciplinary approach; a very unique opportunity which has helped me to hone my critical and analytical skills, as well as widening my perspectives and knowledge beyond my background in business.

As such, I believe I have a balance between practical experiences and learned knowledge- two very important qualities to possess in a client-facing sales career. In addition, my family background in IT-sales continues to share the knowledge and experiences that fuel my passion in this area. In this regard, I very much look forward to the training and exposure that BlackRock provides, which I believe will accelerate my career and greatly deepen my understanding of the Investment Management industry.
