Sample cover letter for Internship position at Body Shop

POSITION:

CRM

Dear Sir/Madam,

Re: Your Customer Relationship Management Placement Opportunity

In response to your job placement posting at the Brighton Business School Placements list, I am a second year student pursuing a degree in BSc Business Management with Finance at University of Brighton. I am looking for a placement in which my academic and non-academic experience can be put into practice, especially in a role, such as Customer Relations Management at your company.

Body Shop is a very well reputed and a market-leading cosmetic organisation worldwide with a well known ethical background. Having thoroughly researched your website, it attracted me how your organisation is a customer orientated organisation and believes that the business of a business is not all about money but it is about considering and taking responsibility of the public.

Customer relationship management (CRM) is a growing sector in the business environment. For a business to be able to satisfy their customers needs and wants, they should engage in CRM as it enables a company to identify the groups of buyers that exist and which type of customers are the best to be targeted by the company. With the involvement of marketing in my course, I became interested in the sector CRM, it gave me an insight on how CRM affects the business world overall and managed to convince me that it is a career option I would like to explore.

With my experience as a sales assistant, it taught me the importance of establishing customers’ needs and providing clear and accurate information in response to those needs. When the situation demanded it, I was always able to manage myself well, take the initiative, work under pressure and according to time constraints.

I believe I meet all of the requirements outlined for the post as the nature of my degree has prepared me for this position. As a Business Management student, I have used research and analysis skills throughout my degree which has taught me how to manage my time effectively, use all resources available and enforce my organisational and self motivational skills to be used. I have undertaken a module in IT which has helped me understand how vital the role of technology is in today’s business environment which I believe will be very useful in this role.

I work well in environments in which there are new challenges and opportunities to tackle everyday which is the reason I believe I could fit easily into your organisation. I am hoping to apply the knowledge I have acquired into your workplace and am keen to work for a company with a great reputation and high profile such as The Body Shop.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this application and I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Yours faithfully,

Joseph Rodriguez
