Sample cover letter for Internship position at Brand Genetics

POSITION:

Insight and Innovation Internship

I write to you applying for the Insight and Innovation Internship at Brand Genetics. I learned that this position was available on the Career Hub website of the UCL. With this cover letter, please find a copy of my CV attached.

The nature of my academic experiences and extra-curricular initiatives have prepared me well for this position. As a student blogger, a diploma holder in two qualitative certifications, and as a published author of an academic research paper, I have honed my writing and analytical skills in many different roles. Researching multiple topics derived from various sources, I complied and presented my analysis to officials from the Government and to executives from the investment bank I interned at. However, I first developed inter cultural communication skills and social media marketing techniques as a participant and organizer of over 15 Model UN debates –many of which hosted students from different countries. The networks I developed through these engagements helped me build a strong team to collectively found a start-up which attempted to launch a product innovation that aimed at cutting daily household power consumption.

I believe these skills that I have developed, combine with my enthusiasm, determination and interest in this field, will assist me to fulfil the responsibilities of this position. If selected, I aim to gain industry experience and learn from insights of working under the leaders in brand innovation. I am available for an interview anytime over the next month and am ready to start, if selected, starting the 11th of January.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this application and I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Yours sincerely,
