Capstone Mining is a leading producer of copper, with highly competitive deposits coupled with low cost operations, the company is strategically positioned to weather the downturn in the mining industry. Since the demand for copper continues to rise at an ever-increasing rate, with strong outlooks from emerging markets, this is one of the sectors I would like to be associated upon graduation in April, 2016. Therefore, I am writing to express my interest in applying for the position of Mine Engineer in Training at the Minto Mine located in Yukon Territory.
Professionally, I have acquired extensive co-op experience in the mining industry. The opportunity has supplemented my technical knowledge and personal growth, but more importantly, further refined my capacity to lead. Through engaging group members, prioritizing tasks, and managing time, I have progressed to become a more effective leader. In addition, through my academics and work experience, I have built a strong foundation for teamwork and communication skills.
