Sample cover letter for Internship position at Ciber

POSITION:

Internship

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to apply for the ‘Project Assistant Coordinator’ intern position at Ciber. I am currently a final year Economics student at [University] and plan to take a gap year after graduation, to pursue personal interests, before making a start on my career.

I have long had interest in both technology and consulting. For this reason, Ciber being an IT consultancy, I believe that it would make an exciting place for me to work as an intern and prove to be a natural fit that aligns well with my personal enthusiasms. Having grown up as an IT enthusiast, my mind works well with technology and is quick to pick up on and understand anything in the field.

My previous and current positions of employment and other leadership roles have all served well in developing the very attributes that would help my performance as an Assistant Coordinator. I have received three successive promotions at my current workplace out of recognition of such capabilities. Working as a Supervisor at a leading tuition centre with over 150 staff members and around 1400 students has been key in improving my ability to work well in a large, diverse and multi-tiered team with members of different seniority. Alongside sustained part-time employment and university studies, I have also undertaken significant volunteer positions. Something I have only been able to manage through strong organisation and personal discipline.

My position as President of [University Society] was well and truly a transformative experience. It required strong leadership, commitment, and a plethora of skills that I constantly developed during my tenure. Leading the executive committee of the society helped to me nurture my own interpersonal skills which were very much required in instances of disagreement that naturally arose due to the team’s diversity in background, values and opinions. It was during the challenges of this role that I really honed my ability to think deeply and broadly. The ability to think critically and with depth will certainly be an asset in any work related engagements.

In summary, I have been fortunate to work in many different environments at different occasions and this is reflective in my personal abilities. I am very much a process orientated individual with high regard for paying attention to detail and executing tasks with efficiency and excellence. I am very much a person that strives to be the best at whatever I do and would greatly appreciate the opportunity to intern at Ciber with this same attitude.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Yours Sincerely
