Sample cover letter for Internship position at DONG

POSITION:

Intern

To whom it may concern

Currently following a Master’s in Security Risk Management at the University of Copenhagen, I have proven an ability to quickly learn challenging concepts and have developed competences in diverse areas including intelligence, risk analysis and risk assessments. I feel confident that these skills would qualify me for the position as Student Assistant in DONG Energy Wind Power’s newly established Market Intelligence unit.

I have been engaged in and tailored my education to the field of risk, security, and intelligence for several years. Born and raised in France, I moved to Montreal, Canada in 2010 to follow a Bachelor in International studies. This comprehensive education included classes in political science, business and also economics. After an Exchange on the “other side of Canada” at the University of British Columbia, I did an internship at the United Nations of Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Mexico. On a daily basis, I was providing press reviews, but also investigating on various themes, in order to support the ongoing projects with the National Program Officer. I then joined the permanent Delegation of Mexico to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris. Assisting the Primary Secretary, I was involved in investigations and research, but also developed a keen eye on detail by assisting the OECD conferences, and linking them to the Mexican’s Agenda. This adaptability to new and diverse cultural environments is, I believe a great asset for private intelligence purposes, outlining both open-mindness and flexibility.

I would like to assist in DONG’s Market Intelligence unit not only to grasp a better understanding of market intelligence and the energy sector, especially the wind sector that I believe to be both competitive and challenging, but also to get the opportunity to concretely apply the theoretical concepts I have learned. My greatest motivation for this application is my goal of gaining even more practical experience and strengthening the bridge between academia and real-world situations. I am passionate, independent and hardworking, and I have a lot of experience with teamwork and working under pressure with a big workload. I am always on the lookout for new challenges and I believe that this position represents what I am looking for.

Enclosed are my CV, recommendations letters and my Bachelor diploma for your review. I thank you in advance for considering my application and would very much like to meet you personally to further discuss my candidacy.

Sincerely,
