Dear Hiring Manager at Deloitte:

It is with great excitement that I am applying for the Business Analyst-Human Capital, Risk position at Deloitte Consulting listed on NYU CareerNet. Having met one of your representatives at the Fall 2015 Job and Internship Fair at NYU Kimmel Center on September 10, I had the opportunity to learn and discuss about the diverse consulting positions at Deloitte and the roles and responsibilities they encompass, I was really inspired by the fact that how Deloitte’s Human Capital Services are leveraging research, analytics, innovation and leadership in order to transform the 21st Century Workforce. Being an ardent follower of Deloitte University Press and having read the Human Capital Trends of 2015, the valuable information I learned from it has reinforced my passion for this position and my entrepreneurial spirit.

I am a Masters Student at New York University majoring in Management of Technology. During my Masters, I have been in charge of various positions across diverse departments with multitude of responsibilities. Presently I am working as a Graduate Assistant at NYU Moses Center for Students with Disabilities where I am responsible for handling the Service Provider Management Portal. In addition, I also lead a team of proctors and note takers who under my supervision try to figure out the needs of the differently abled students and meet them effectively.

During the summers 2015, I worked as a Human Resource Assistant in NYU’s HR department. I used to manage the student transactional activities straight from recruiting and appointing new employees to processing terminations, communicating back and forth both telephonically and via emails with the NYU clients in order to successfully resolve employment related issues, managing the student employment record across NYU in PeopleSync. Moreover, my supervisors have always admired me for my organizational skills and sharp attention to the very minute details which was indeed a very important element of my job. Working under 4 supervisors at the same time under various constraints has helped me ace organizational and managerial skills

The coursework includes subjects like Data Mining for Business Analytics, Business Analytics & Data Visualization using SAS which have strengthened my analytical and critical thinking. My academic projects include devising a project management plan for a grocery chain which can help reduce the major problems faced by customers during grocery shopping. Financial analysis of a major corporation in a form of case study to help determine the risks associated with the accusation by taking into consideration the various financial constrains. Leading my project group has helped me develop people’s skills. Furthermore, my excellent academic performance reflects upon my GPA, increasing tremendously from 3.4 in the first semester to 3.9 in the second exhibiting my hard work and determination. Holding a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, I have also sharpened my decision making skills while supporting the operations of an electrical utility and an electrical equipment supply company over two summers. I had to constantly analyze processes and determine the root cause of problems.

I take pride in my innate leadership potential. I was the Graduate Orientation Leader for the New Graduate Student Orientation Program 2015 at NYU. My responsibilities included spearheading and motivating the orientation team to do their tasks effectively and involving everyone towards achieving a common goal.

Looking forward to discuss the opportunities with you.

Sincerely,

Mrityunjay Gunjiyal
