Sample cover letter for Internship position at Disney

POSITION:

Internship

With the utmost enthusiasm, I would like to express my interest in the Corporate Citizenship Strategic Philanthropy Internship with Walt Disney World. As a Marketing student at UCF and Human Resource Intern for Bags Incorporated, I have worked diligently to build a strong foundation in marketing and digital media while developing professional skills and communication. I am graduating with my Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing with a focus on International Business in December 2015. This summer I am studying abroad in France to increase my knowledge of consumer markets and management in Europe while improving my language skills. When I am not studying or at work I volunteer for Southwest Orlando Young life, a non-profit organization.

Working as a Marketing Research Intern would provide the exciting opportunity to gather insight and discover ways to delight guests at Walt Disney World while encouraging them to show their Disney side. Walt Disney himself is a role model that constantly encourages me to follow my dreams and break down barriers. I believe that every person has the right to experience a wonderful vacation and I would love to become a part of the process that adds value and memories to families from all over the world.

I believe that I would be a great asset to your company because I have experience in the hospitality industry where my responsibility was to anticipate and resolve guest’s needs and expectations during their stay at Loews Portofino Bay hotel at Universal Orlando. At Bags Incorporated, I have the responsibility of handling deadline driven projects. I was in charge of a major project that required restructuring editing and restructuring our new hire packets for our onboarding portion of our new hire training and orientation. I simplified the process thus decreasing preparation time by 30% allowing me more time to allocate to different projects. Also in my Marketing Research class at UCF I worked with a group of students to persuade our professor of the necessary action our company of choice should make based on our findings. I analyzed articles, conducted a focus group and an interview with an industry expert. As a team, we synthesized all the findings, formulated a recommendation and presented our discoveries. In my Marketing Management class, I worked with a small team in an online simulation to create products for computer industry by using market research to guide our decisions over the course of eight weeks. At the end of the simulation, our team ranked among the Top 5 companies in the class that earned the most profit. Our ability to listen and respond to consumers’ needs and responding to our competitors moves in the market were strategies that led us to our success. My strong work ethic and attention to detail will immediately allow me to add value to your team.

I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to meet with you, and further discuss my qualifications. Thank you for your time and consideration.
