Sample cover letter for Internship position at E & Y

POSITION:

Audit Internship

Dear (Name)

My name is (Name), a MSA student at the Grand Valley State University. I would like to be considered for an External Audit Internship at Ernst & Young.

As I know, working in audit means I could constantly learn something new and interact with various clients, which has been always attractive to me. Especially working for a firm like EY, I believe that it would provide me with a strong foundation for a career in business, valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in audit. And I also believe that this External Audit Internship position would give students a great opportunity to attain audit experiences, team working and networking with business professionals.

My first job in the U.S. as a customer service representative needed me to use Microsoft Excel and Word a lot to update and create technical documents to match machine features and operation guides for customers’ data packages. This job give me a valuable experience to adjust myself to a new and diverse working environment which is different from what I had in China, since I was also required to clearly communicate with my coworkers who are from Korea, Nigeria.

I also worked for a global foreign exchange company which provides traders with low cost access to foreign exchange markets. I got Series 3 and Series 34 securities licenses in about one and half months that was very impressive to my coworkers and my manger in this fast-paced industry. This job gives me great confidence and proves my fast-learning capability in accounting and financial area. Based on my experiences, I believe that there are some things that I can offer to the internship position.

I uploaded my resume and transcript as well. I hope we could arrange to discuss my ability further so I could make contribution to this internship. Should you require an additional information, I can be contacted at the phone number and e-mail listed above.

Sincerely,
