Sample cover letter for Internship position at Ernst and Young

POSITION:

Internship

Dear Recruiter,

As for someone who has been interested in consulting as a career path from the beginning, Ernst and Young’s advisory consultant program would be the ideal internship for me. This would enable me to get my foot in the door to a career that could last a lifetime. I believe this internship would not just be perfect for me but, I would be perfect for it. As I saw the internship position published online, it immediately caught my eye because of the job tittle. Inspired to solve problems business face, I would be very excited to the satisfaction gained from accomplishing the difficult task.

I am a current business student with a double concentration. I am taking accounting courses including some courses on federal taxation. I think some of the skills I have picked up in my early years throughout school and my internship this past summer, I believe I can add a lot to a company’s ideas and creativity. This past summer I helped speed up some obsolete processes and improved overall flow of the business. My experience with excel also improved as I used it many times this summer and got better practice with it.

My resume offers a more detailed explanation as to what I have done and I believe that they line up for the description for what your company needs. I appreciate the consideration. Hope to see you soon.

Thank you,
