Dear Hiring Manager,
I was impressed by the culture at the firm and the way in which it identifies and mitigates risks. Rather than using averaged actuarial data, FM Global uses actual data which has been collected over a period of many years to help clients understand possible risks. I am keen to gain a deeper insight into a career as a Consultant due to its intellectual rigor and with great enthusiasm I have decided to submit my application for the position of AERS Advisory Intern at Deloitte.
I believe that my educational and project experiences have prepared me well for the analytical challenges in this field. One of my recent projects involved coordinating with the project director at UIC College of Applied Health Sciences to come up with an entirely new system process to increase referrals to their partner NGOs. Through several client meetings and requirement gathering sessions, I understood their existing process and leveraged my ability to look at a problem from different perspectives to come up with a better solution. I assumed the responsibility of a project manager within the team and carried out the project scheduling and product design of a software tool using tools like MS Visio and MS Project. Furthermore, I worked within a team to create and give a presentation to the client and was invited to present the project at a business expo. I will soon be working as a consultant to a company in Illinois on an academic project to develop a disaster recovery plan by performing risk assessment and business impact analysis concerning the firm’s software and infrastructure.
As you will see from the attached resume, I have taken up many leadership and client facing roles in the past as a student and an intern. Apart from being responsive and analytical, I bring to the table a passion to collaborate and work with people in an amiable fashion and strive to give my best to serve people, be it professional or personal.
