Sample cover letter for Internship position at Facebook

POSITION:

Analyst

To the Recruiter of Fairwater Capital,

My name is xxx and I am writing to apply for the research intern position, posted on the xxx career hub service. I am interested in a career in investment research and I believe this internship would provide a more solid foundation to my core skills set that I have gained from previous internships.

My first year was ended with a good average of 2nd upper class, which is on track to a first class honor degree in mathematics. I have a relative broad exposure to the financial sector, with having completed several internships across trading and asset management firms. These experiences, despite of brushing up some of the office skills such as excel and PowerPoint, also further developed a better understanding about the macroeconomic environment. As you can see from my enclosed CV, I was able, whilst observing real transactions, to spend some of the time in doing market updates for my traders in the asset management experience. At the same time, I have gained some of the trading fundamentals by participating in simulations and overall I have had some successful in gaining a second place amongst of my class on 11 interns.

Besides professional experiences, extracurricular activities helped in bringing myself together as a strong communicator and manager. Frequently acting as a leader in various occasions, I’m qualified to be a good team player in a group setting and also prepared to take initiative if I have to. Therefore, I believe my experiences can bring out contributions to the firm by good knowledge in finance, strong analytical mindset and a good team player.

I am very excited for the opportunity and I wish to discuss more about myself through a meaning conversation during interview. Looking forward to hearing from you and thank you for your consideration.
