I am currently an investment research intern in From my manager who was educated and later worked in Japan for years, I had the chance to start knowing about Japanese firms. Compared with speed-oriented and individualism value, I’m more appealed to the Japanese team-oriented mindset.I believe it will also benefit the bank when facing stricter regulations and compliance. Besides, I learnt that your program offers the flexibity to move around and complete rotations in a range of departments. It will be a great opportunity for an entry-level analyst to learn more about various lines of business and find out the field to develop in the future. My current interst mostly lands to capital financing while I would like to explore more on other fields. Lastly, I’m impressed by your sizable and growing presence in the investment banking industry in Asia. I believe there will be more opportunities to explore inside and grow with the bank who is the increasing leader.

During my 7-month internship , I gradually stepped out from a fresh university student to a full-time junior role. I worked closely with the investment team in the office every day, and I learnt a lot about the daily communication at work, e.g. how to construct, and more importantly, report my ideas in a concise way to senior managers. I also learnt how to maintain healthy relationhips during work in the long term when facing daily issues and challenges. So after accumualting working experience for a period, I believe I could not only be a trainee but also an asset to your firm. In the technical side, I developed a comprehensive foundation in valuation techniques, data analysis, market screening and investment research in preparation for a career in investment banking. One of my proudest achievements in the work is that I assisted in creating a DCF analysis and manager used the result to argue for a 5-10% discount.
