Sample cover letter for Internship position at Fendi

POSITION:

Retail Operations intern

09/11/2015

Dear Hiring Manager,

RE: Retail operations internship, Ref: FEND00126

Please accept this letter and the accompanying resume as my application for the Retail operations Internship position at Fendi within LVMH. Over the last 5 years I have compiled experience in multiple theatres of service. In the Financial, food and design sector I have proved to be a dedicated and forward thinking employee. I wish to pursue a position in fashion not only because of my religious attention to trends of the past, present, and future but for my enjoyment from the process of detailing and selling product.

While working as a server at a high-end local restaurant, I learned how to work with all levels of management. I quickly figured out what I could do in order to aid each position within the restaurant, regardless of title. Most importantly, this was where I first learned how to dictate the message behind a product into terms the customer would understand. Selling to customers, whether it is food or the latest spring collection, requires attention and care. With that responsibility comes very peculiar questions and thoughts from customers, which I will be able to answer.

My time spent with Merrill Lynch gave a professional understanding of financial reporting and business vernacular. The pressure to communicate when working in private wealth management, constantly reminds you to tailor your workday to your clients needs. Knowing your client and building the relationship was the most important aspect of service I learned from this internship. I was also able to observe the structure of a business and the moving parts that needed to be controlled in order to make it succeed. The administrative aspects I learned will help me mesh my talents into the already talented structures of companies like Fendi.

I have been through an array of different customer service situations and experiences, which I am confidant, will translate very well into this internship. A company I have the highest esteem for, and one, which I would be honored to have the opportunity to be a part of.

Sincerely,

------------
