I am writing to apply for the Software development engineer intern position that groupon posted on a January 1^st, 2016 on the groupon jobs website.

I am currently a student at San Diego State University pursuing an MS degree in Computer Science. I have one and a half years of experience as a Junior Software Developer in a software company. I have worked with in developing effective plans, prioritizing tasks, and seeing the overall goals of a project. These experiences have also enhanced my knowledge of application development at its different stages including requirement gathering, design, development, integration, and testing.

My technical expertise includes fluency in scripting/programming languages (including C, C++, Java, Python, PHP and SQL); and advanced knowledge of developer applications, tools, methodologies and best practices (including OOD, API development, client/server architecture and self-test automation).Skills in creating Use Cases and project planning have benefited both clients and past employers and enhanced my ability to provide creative thinking and problem solving. I won the San Diego Big Data Hackathon - 2015 hosted by San Diego State University on the theme of water conservation. I am confident that my education and work experience are a good fit for intern program at groupon.
