Sample cover letter for Internship position at HSBC

POSITION:

BUSINESS ANALYST

Dear Recruiter,

What are the The top potential risks facing HSBC globally today?

The top risks are as followed:

Regulatory systems: HSBC faces the potential risk of much more stricter regulation by central banks and other regulatory authorities. Tighter regulation in basic terms can have an adverse effect on HSBC operations. For example the recent changes in government policies has caused HSBC to propose planned cuts for their risk weighted assets allocated to GB&M by one third. It also plans to make 25,000 job cuts globally, of which 8,000 are expected to fall in the UK.

Questions number one and two basically are behavior questions that you might encounter during your other interviews or inside your cover letter. Question number three concerns basic risks associated with bank management which will be taught on your courses such as Bank Management or other similar ones. As far as I knew, there are several risks associates with managing bank such as Liquidity Risk that determines the pool of funding sources, Creidt Risk that is very easy to understand, Market Risk that macroeconomics might inversely affected bank's perfromance, Operating Risk which relates to general management inside the bank, and the most important risk, at least from my perpective, Interest Risk that concerns the balance sheet of the bank. Question four falls into behavior question again but a bit more specific.

Hope to hear from you soon

Best Regards,
