Please accept my letter of application for the position of adjunct instructor of Government at your institution to supplement my current teaching assignments. I believe my experience and commitment to teaching make me well qualified to meet the needs of your program.

As a full time professor at another area community college  for the past 10 years, I have acquired a strong love of teaching and special rapport with community college students. I am committed to an interdisciplinary approach to teaching, and all of my courses are structured with this in mind. Rather than simply lecturing to a class, I strive to cultivate an interactive environment in which students can express themselves freely while learning to engage with the subject in meaningful ways. I emphasize critical thinking and the need to consider events within its larger social, historical, and intellectual contexts. I have developed and taught sections of American and Texas Government I & II, Introduction to Social Statistics, and Political Sociology. Additionally, I have extensive experience with dual credit, internet, hybrid and web enhanced classes.
