I am writing this mail to express my interest in pursuing a summer research internship under your guidance during the monthsof June and July 2016. Having interned at  a mobile phone R&D in Shanghai, China as an android software developer last year, I now seek an opportunity to render my skills and experiences useful in the field of research.

I believe that with my dedication and persistence, I would be an asset to your research group. Specific to my field, algorithms, operating systems, and data base management system are my strengths. I am proficient in programming languages– C, C++, SQL, and Java. Ever since I pursued Data Mining and Warehousing as an elective, I found myself ardently interested in the subject and intend to take up my end term project in the same. Previously, attending an introductory workshop on ‘Cloud Computing and Virtualization’ led me to author a minor research paper on ‘Detecting anomalies in Cloud using Intrusion Detection’. I have constantly endeavoured to strike a balance between academics and extra-curricular activities to develop leadership qualities and soft skills.
