I had completed Master of Public Health degree from Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, India on January 2016. The program was intensive and allowed me to draw on knowledge and skills from a variety of disciplines to help define, critically evaluate and resolve a broad spectrum of public health problems and issues, which I might face during my professional career.

I have four months experience as an internship in Centre for Public Health Protection,Kollam as a part of MPH course. As part of my education as well as during internship, I was fortunate to have first-hand knowledge of public healthcare systems and domains like program management, monitoring and evaluation of projects, training needs assessment, developing training modules as well as community based studies.

I was also privileged to associate with some landmark projects RNTCP projects like pilot initiation of ‘Practical Approach to Lung-health’ (PAL) Kollam district and ‘T.B Elimination project’ in Idukki district, rural settings in Kerala India. It gave a real time experience on monitoring, capacity building and evaluation of health programmes.

Through my graduate and post-graduate coursework’s, I gained a firm foundation in both in quantitative and qualitative research, data analysis and evaluation; while honing my communication, presentation and organizational abilities. I applied these skills through hands-on experiences in both program coordination and research. Gained experience in handling data analysis tools like Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and open source data analysis tool R, data entry software EpiData and other platforms like EpiInfo and Epitools.

With my strong research, evaluation, and communication skills and knowledge in Public health, I believe I would be given an opportunity to explore this oppurtunity which is currently open at this organization.
