I am writing to express an interest in the Summer Analyst position in your Public Finance business, and have included my resume and information.

I have quite an unusual background. I finished my high school in the United Kingdom and went onto medical school at the University of -----. However, I chose to withdraw after 1 year as it was evident to me that it was not my passion. I came back home to ---- and started my own business in the auto industry. This experience cemented my passion for business and is the reason why I came to ------ University.

My interest in investment banking stems from my internship during a study abroad program in Shanghai, China. During my time there, I learned and applied the different valuation methodologies used when valuing real estate namely; the cost approach, sales comparison approach and the income approach. Furthermore, I interned at a research and consulting firm this past summer as a research analyst. Through my experiences, I have developed and enhanced my research and analytical skills. While operating my own business in Myanmar, I built up my communication skills by establishing relationships with suppliers in Japan and maintaining a customer base in Myanmar. Furthermore, I am a Business Excel tutor at ------ which makes me get more familiar with Excel. I feel that these experiences have primed me for a position in your internship program.
