Sample cover letter for Internship position at JPMorgan

POSITION:

Intern

Dear HR,

I am writing to express my interest in the 2017 Asset Management Proud to Be Day – Undergraduate. As a homosexual student exposed to the standards of our society, a lot of the new experiences that I have are intimidating and different. However, after living alone in another country, undertaking responsibilities as an athlete, and learning three different languages, I started to appreciate the feeling of being terrified by the new but embracing it anyway. I am enthusiastic to discover J.P. Morgan and expand my knowledge while having a great time. I want to chat with experienced senior bankers, listen to experts, and network with my fellow attendees. I want to approach other self-driven students and be inspired by them.

As for my background, I am rising junior with a cumulative GPA of 3.97 (out of 4.0) at [University's name], where I am pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a concentration in Finance. Moreover, I am also a student-athlete swimming in a NCAA Division I university. I have developed interest in the field of finance through my family background and various extra-curricular activities, such as finance and accounting collegiate societies and investment courses from the Brazilian brokerage firm XP Investments.

I strongly believe that I can be an asset to the firm. My goals with this program is to gain meaningful experience, expand my knowledge in the industry and prove to your team that I have the organizational, planning and creative thinking skills that J.P. Morgan values so much.

Thank you for your time and attention. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
