Intern

My family has led a nomadic life due to my father’s transferable job. I have lived in places as diverse as Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. Moreover, by the age of fifteen, I had already studied in six different schools.

The prospect of living in a new city was exciting initially. However, the first transfer from Vapi to Cuddalore taught me how strenuous shifting was. I had to immediately adopt a new lifestyle and a routine, join a new school in the middle of the semester and manage studies, overcome the language barrier, make new friends right from scratch- everything at once in an alien environment. To complicate matters, when I finally began to settle down, it was time to shift. Because of moving frequently, I was always hesitant to call any place my home.

After a series of transfers, I consciously started hardwiring myself to get accustomed to change. The entire process of transferring and then re-transferring taught me my most important lesson; change is the only constant and to survive in this ever-changing world, adaptability and proactivity are two of the most important qualities one can possess. on to learning this important lesson, I was able to explore new places, learn different languages and form an informed opinion in mind about important issues. My conscious hardwiring gave me my most celebrated quality - adaptability.
