Sample cover letter for Internship position at JTI

POSITION:

Finance intern

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I am writing to express my interest in a summer internship position within the Financial department that was posted on a LinkedIn website. Being a successful business school undergraduate I see myself as having already developed a strong academic background that, in my opinion, is sufficient to equip me well for the practical aspects of the role advertised.

I first became interested in working for JTI through attending a series of career presentations made by top global employers at the London Recruitment Fair in 2015. One of the talks given by your UK colleague had a profound effect on my prevailing career aspirations, therefore leading me to feel that becoming a part of such young yet hugely successful company is an excellent opportunity to seize. Having established its credentials as one of the top-5 global employers, JTI’s focus on its employee’s continuous development, to my mind, is sure to result in the most fruitful collaboration, especially for the committed challenge-lovers who I truly see myself to be. Coupled with the long-lasting pursuit of excellence and innovation representative of the company, I believe that learning about the areas of my interest through the first-hand experience within JTI will bring my career up to the whole new level.

Working in a dynamic and ever-changing environment has always been something that I found hugely enjoyable and stimulating. Having occupied a position of the Financial Manager Assistant in the small-size retail company, I have successfully gained an important insight into the FMCG industry. By working closely on the financial matters of the company, not only have I proven to be a result-driven, quick-learning and self-disciplined individual, but also have improved my understanding of the wider consumer-oriented environment in which the organization operated. On the one hand, being a proactive student I have also taken on a role of the Treasurer in 2 societies at the university, which helped me to enhance my leadership and communication skills. On the other hand, the continuous participation in all-level Olympiads enabled me to learn how to solve different types of problems efficiently and in a timely fashion without substantial difficulties. Furthermore, having enrolled myself into one of the most difficult Maths-intense Business school modules, I managed to compete successfully against the native speakers, thus, showing enough commitment and determination to come to the alumni top.

I firmly believe that my professional and academic qualifications make me well suited for the internship role at JTI, and I am confident that I will fit in very well with the chosen department. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,
