Sample cover letter for Full Time position at Jacobs

POSITION:

Graduate Economist

Jacobs Engineering Group

Dear Sirs

Graduate Opportunities in the Environmental Field - 2015

I am looking forward to graduating in July 2015 with an integrated Master’s Degree in Environment, Economics and Ecology from the University of York. It continues to be a challenging journey, principally modules addressing the development of environmental policies and their contribution to sustainability, energy efficiencies, climate change and environmental economics. These, together with research projects, are areas where I have particular interest. My academic results so far equate to a 2:1 degree.

I am eager to ‘get stuck in’ straight after graduating and apply my theoretical knowledge in the real business world and enclose my CV in application for a 2015 graduate opportunity.

I am enthusiastic, communicate exceptionally well, have lots of ideas, quick to pick up new skills and eager to learn from others. I’m committed to developing a very successful professional career and keen to work for Jacobs, a company with an established reputation and high profile in the environmental field.

I have experience, albeit briefly, of working alongside stakeholders in a global company to help develop a company tendering procedure that would increase business opportunities. The work I undertook involved a great deal of collaboration with colleagues as well as independent research and initiative, responsibility, self-motivation and a wide range of skills.

Thank you for considering this application and I looked forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Yours faithfully
