I am excited to apply for the Information Technology Development Program internship for Summer 2015. My ambition strongly aligns with Johnson & Johnson’s Credo to improve the lives of its customer and maintain high ethical standards. As a Master of Engineering Management student at Dartmouth College, I have a comprehensive foundation in operations and engineering that would make me a strong support in technological end of J&J’s operations.

When I view a device, I break it down by what is important: usability, viability, affordability, scalability, and maintainability. My engineering background gives me a highly structured approach to problem solving while maintaining a level of creativity and adaptability. During my time doing cancer research, I created an application using excel, VBA, and SQL to automate maintenance of inventory processes which in turn improved operations. I want to continue to improve lives in a new direction by delving into the technology that supports a company’s operations.

J&J emphasizes a multi-disciplinary collaboration between structured departments while promoting constructive teamwork. My success as Chief Executive Officer of a small IT recruiting company was a result of my multidisciplinary background. I leveraged my biomedical background to screen candidates for large pharmaceutical and medical device companies and entered the company into the biotech market. This would not have been possible without the combination of biomedical and business insight.

At Johnson & Johnson, I would have the opportunity to make the greatest impact in a dynamic work culture and gain exposure to. I would appreciate the opportunity to introduce myself further and look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Kartik Pawar
