Sample cover letter for Internship position at KPMG

POSITION:

Auditor

Application for a position in Audit & Assurance division for the 2017 Year-End Internship Programme

I am deeply attracted by the learning opportunities offered by your internship programme. I am confident that my skill-sets such as analytical abilities and eye for details, coupled with a passion in accounting and auditing, will meet the requirements of the programme.

Highly goal-driven and detail-oriented, I strive to excel at every challenge I take up. As a foreign scholar, I learnt to quickly master English and adapted into the local culture. Setbacks did not make me falter, but rather drilled me to stay ahead of my peers in the academic front. Inquisitive and eager to learn, I actively participated in cross-national case competitions such as Risk Management Challenge and awarded the ASEAN champion. Through extensive research and analysis on financial and operational risks exposed to banks today and close interactions with senior managers at Accenture, I gained insightful knowledge into the changing landscape of the financial industry and learnt to offer novel solutions to help banks thrive in the social media and digital banking era.

Prior to NBS, I was in the Science and Math Talented Program (SMTP). Being actively engaged in multiple research projects and competing in national research competitions such as Singapore Science Engineering Fair, I have developed the tenacity, analytical and teamwork skills necessary to make a significant contribution in your program.

Academic aside, my position as Event Director and Service Learning Coordinator at Risk Management Society further honed my leadership abilities and time management skills. My dedication to many other campus events further testifies to my effective time-management skills while remaining focused on the big picture, all of which I believe will add value to your company.

Thank you for taking time to consider my application. I invite you to review my enclosed resume, and would greatly appreciate an interview opportunity.

Yours sincerely
