As a one-year MSc student in Investment Management at the Cass Business School London, am I writing to express my interest in the Summer Associate Internship at L.E.K. Consulting. Therefore, I am pleased to enclose a copy of my CV for your consideration.

Through several conversations with XXX, a current intern in the Munich office, I have come to believe that your expertise focused philosophy, as well as the exciting, team-based environment, make L.E.K. Consulting a very strong fit for me. I have followed your development closely over the years and I am especially impressed by your tremendous focus on leveraging deep industry expertise and rigorous analysis in an effort to deliver fresh insights to your clients.

I am very keen to pursue a career in consulting. The wide range of projects, strong client interaction and great mix of quantitative and qualitative analysis are all reasons why this area appeals to me. I also believe it will give me exposure to, and involvement with, a variety of large organisations to work on challenging problems that transform company strategy. In my previous experience as a research assistant I solved complex theoretical problems, however the execution in practice was missing, which I learned to value through co-founding my own company. I am confident that consulting will provide a similar practical opportunity for me to approach problems from conception to conclusion.

My most recent position as a research assistant has provided me with an abundance of opportunities to define and solve problems and strengthen my numerical aptitude. I learned to read and analyse scientific literature and data and built financial models that connected to my specific research. With my entrepreneurial experience as a co-founder of a start-up, I bring forth a creative viewpoint to approaching complex problems in today’s commercial environment. Whether in a professional role or as an entrepreneur, I have always set a strong focus on teamwork. My leadership role as a student teacher and coordinator, has helped me develop the ability to collaborate with a diverse group of peers in order to leverage the best of our capabilities. In this effort, I also honed my ability to plan and organise my time and developed sound communicationsskills. I have shown significant commitment to constantly achieving high standards in my professional roles as well as in my academic tenure. As part of the top 10% students of my class, I was awarded the Honours Programme award for academic excellence.
